The Sea of Rocks / The Mountain Body

Free event

The project created especially for the Biennale Gherdëina by the multidisciplinary artist and choreographer Helle Siljeholm, is titled The Sea of Rocks and refers to the original formation of our alpine landscape. Over millions of years, the collision between the Euro-Asian and African continental plates caused the upward movement that created the rock formations of the Dolomites from the depths of the sea. Combining complex climbing techniques, choreographic composition, fairy-tale costumes and a soundscape composed live and audible through headphones by the audience, the performance on the Cirspitze in Val Gardena explores the relationships between mountains, sea and erosion, offering viewers a meditative experience.
In collaboration with the 9th Biennale Gherdëina
